 Tuesday, and I’m finished with my shift. It’s lashing, and I’m waiting in the freezing cold at the 145 bus stop near Trinity. I only had to walk five minutes down Grafton street, but my feet already feel like they’re going to fall off. I guess it’s cause of all the standing around all day, but for some reason I only noticed it a minute ago. I stand with my rain jacket collar pulled around my face, and my hands dug deep into my pockets to stop my fingers from feeling the worst of the frosty weather. Namesake - Chapter 2I’ve started playing with fire just to feel the burn. I know it’s not ideal, but I’ve started trying to get myself into trouble. I want to get caught breaking the law, I want to start a fight with every guy I see. I don’t know what it is, but this nothingness is beginning to get to me. Maybe that’s a good thing. Maybe it’s good that I can at least feel worried about my state of mind. I was at a session on Saturday with a bunch of guys I barely knew who I’d been introduced to by an ex girlfriend, and all I could think about was breaking the bottle open and slashing at the nearest person.

 It’s what you’d call a fairly average Monday morning; I’m sitting on the bus, already about thirty minutes late for work and still several stops away, there’s some emo-ish chick sitting in front of me, her iPod blaring out this tinny excuse for music, and it’s about this exact moment that everything seems to stand still and I realise that I just don’t care anymore. Introduction - Part 3I catch the gun on the heavy pipe next to my head as I spring from my hiding place, teeth bared like some cornered, feral creature resorting to a suicidal leap at his enemy. The clang in what was silence becomes this twisted, ugly crescendo which drowns out the startled cry of the second attacker as my foot comes into contact with her knee, sending her down in an undignified stumble onto the freezing tiles. I take the opportunity to let lose a round into her arched back as she struggles to pick herself up in time. Introduction - Part 2It’s the tension, the waiting, the suspense that’s killing me. It’s the uncertainty, and the knowledge that I have no idea if I’ll be alive five minutes from now. I'm currently re-doing Namesake for my 2009 NaNoWriMo, but when that's done I'll probably be posting some more chapters or extracts. I know not many people read this, but I like to at least have a place to store it and perhaps get a few nice comments or some constructive criticism.

The Adventures Of A Mildly Interesting Box

Current NaNoWriMo Word Count: 10339 (Will try to update daily / whenever my word count significantly increases.)
I've been procrastinating so much the past few days! I didn't write anything for NaNoWriMo two days this week, so my word count is falling behind, and also I've got two articles to do for the School Newsletter that I'm supposed to have FINISHED by tonight. I haven't started either of them!
... And so, the NaNo stress + general intenseness of November finally kicks in.
If I'm to try and get my target word count for tonight, I'm gonna have to write like 5000 words.
On the bright side, I'm off at 1PM every day this week, so that should give me a chance to catch up.
I'm doing In Dublin week as part of Transition Year, which basically means we wander around the city doing touristy things all week. xD
Getting my Swine Flu vaccine on Thursday, I have to 'cause I'm on some sort of list due to my diabetes or something.
So I was on my work experience this week, as most of you know 'cause of the random 3D stuff I've been uploading. It was pretty interesting, I must say, and I had a much better time than most of my friends seem to have had, so that was good. xPP

But on the plus side, I'm really happy with the way Namesake is turning out! I outlined the plot and I know exactly what I'm doing with it. It's nice to have an idea of how it's going to end and more importantly, how to bring about that ending. For NaNoWriMo, I've decided to just do the main skeleton of the story, you know, try to get the actual plot finished, and then afterwards I'm going to go back and flesh it out a little, you know, add more development and filler 'cause right now it's hard to get across some of the stuff without being confusing. Besides, I like doing filler + development. xDD

I've got an ending and everything! It's great to be this prepared. I know what's going to happen, and how it's going to happen! It's a really new feeling for me. xD
Good luck to everyone else who's doing NaNo. And to those who haven't done it before, be warned; week two is the one that sucks out your soul. It's the hardest week ever! But it does get better. And if you've got a plan, it's not as bad as everyone says it is.

Oh yeah, and just to clear it up, at the start of NaNo I made a new document for my NaNo Namesake stuff, and started a new chapter, so I'm not including in my word count anything I wrote before November 1st. I know you're not even supposed to continue a work, but I'm so intent on finishing this thing within the next few months...
